If these tunes were under some unknown name and were released as SUNKLOFOR you'd all be losing your shit right now. Instead its the same old story.

Why can it never be just about, the music. There's always got to be a, BUT...

sigh.

As for what Ollie said, I agree somewhat that he struggles with his identity, but you don't go getting releases on Pets and Dirtybird for no reason.

I can't see why no one can just applaud the guy for being able to diversify. He gets some mad props for being able to shift his style and sound and be able to blend into everything so seemlessly, I personally think.

I don't see anyone bashing Kill Frenzy for what he's making right now and jumping on the whole house/footwork thing. He used to put out some awful shit too.

Grow up and stop taking it personally. If it was all about the music, not of us would be on here chatting gas about it, the forum wouldn't exist.

I've got the guys sort-of bassline release "Girl Thing" on vinyl. I love that release. In fact, that might have even been my first 12". Lost interest him in now because there's nothing remotely distinctive about his tunes now, they're just all in the big pot that is the current snapshot that is "UK Bass".

Struggles with his identity? He makes whatever's popular at the time. He's not alone in doing that, but it doesn't make it less true.

Even labels I really like release some top shit some of the time.

There's diversify and having the balls to break away and doing something DIFFERENT to everything else at the time and there's diversifying your previous sound into something else because it's popular and will get you a release. The latter does not command my respect.

Dunno who Kill Frenzy is.

Mosca manages to diversify and shift his sound, but still sound like Mosca

I must be the only one here to think he does actually have his own style...since the shockheaded / falsehood release he did, I think you can tell a tune was made by him..some people need to chill though! The forum is about opinions, opinion is always going to be divided over music..would be shit if it wasn't!

Like a couple of sensible people on here have said, A1 bassline is a producer who shows diversity, you wouldn't moan about Quincy Jones! My main qualm with some of these negative comments is the fact that he keeps getting compared to Joy Orbison in them, if you read their
history, they have been friends from school since they were 11 years old , A1 bassline's father has been in dance music since it began, owning
RAVE magazine in the 80's and has managed some legendary dance acts like Dem2 ("Destiny") US Alliance (check "BABY" if you think Hyph Mngo
was so original),he so obviously grew up around that class music from a very early age.
Also, didn't A1 Bassline release his first big tune when he was 19 and Joy Orbison when he was 23 (3 months after he did a Fidget remix
of 3 little words by FRANKMUSIK under Louises Lovers), very strange!
Didn't I also read somewhere that he had a studio when he was 15 and released a Drum & Bass vinyl when he was just 16.
Theapplefritter hit the nail on the head, if this was on Sunklo under a different name, we'd be hearing bells ringing, as for him not having his own sound,
I dont think he would get Claude Von Stroke/the Martin brothers or Catz and Dogz attention, I know who I would rather listen to.
And for the person who thinks that this is A1 bassline or Alfie, you couldn't be more wrong, I hate football!

Just lol. Sound more like you dislike Joy O than like A1. You have no idea of my feelings towards Joy O, honestly don't get why you keep comparing them.

hey millwallhooligan

I think that your concept of racism may be slightly askew

maybe,
slightly
I was referring to the idiot who said he'd worked it out Chi House..... China!
And yes it was racist, A1 Bassline happens to be Chinese, this is supposed to
be a music forum, not an excuse for BNP members to get there little minded
snide remarks read!
I know just enough about dance music to know it comes from Chicago.

this track was made way back (before any Joy/Boddika releases) and its Ok for Joy to jump from Fidget

fidget house remixes of the likes of FrankMusik, 3 months before the release of Hyph?)
Also Chi step, you racist idiot!
Lol, Chi-step is referring to Chicago, not China!

You missed the point completely, Someone else referred it to Chi step, not me
They were being slyly racist as A1 bassline is chinese, thats the joke...apparently
I was listening to Chicago house probably before you were born!

Joy Orbison might've changed, but absolutely nothing sounded like Hyph Mngo when it came out. He changed to something fresh. A1 Bassline might make decent tunes, but he just hops and hops onto whatever is cool at the time. He's obviously a solid producer, and would get a lot more respect from me if he struck out and did something that isn't get rinsed to death at the moment.

so if i said that like traxman is a chi-house artist does that mean its racist?

because chi is the first 3 letters of chicago and traxman is from chicago

and it's racist to say a1 bassline made a chi-house track because he chinese and chi is the first 3 letters of china

so like i guess jpop is a racist genre name
