as i said, you can buy em off growers on Amazon

from what i've read, and im inclined to believe, a pound or half a kilo of san pedro cactus will yield 300-500mg of mescaline sulfate (or something like that...) which is enough for one medium to large hit

the guy im gona buy off charges something liek $50 for 5lbs... thats 3-4 sticks, at least 12" in height so they've been properly grown, he doesn't like selling anything less than 18" though so i think it should be perfect in terms of potency

If I suggest using a slow cooker noam.
You can really slow cook the mescal into crystals.

does it speed the process up at all?? obviously its a 'slow' cooker but there's a difference between open hob cooking for 10-12 hours and a slow cooker for 6-8

As far as I can tell from very briefly reading a little bit about Mescaline Extraction, a longer boil will simply help drive the reaction to completion better. If you can get hold of a magnetic stirrer and hotplate, then go with that because it is far superior to hob cooking.

A base is used to extract the mescaline out of solution, such as Sodium Hydroxide, which should be done by SLOWLY adding NaOH to the solution. An excess will not harm it so you do not have to be too careful about the amount. There is a prior step I have also read upon whereby you can reduce the number of fats and other organic matter that invade the process by using acid and refiltering the solution before adding the base, but I am not sure how important that is in terms of just get the mescaline out so you can get wrecked. I guess it's something you learn from actually doing it.

Acid is simply added to form the Mescaline Salt which is extracted from the main solution via recrystallisation. An excess of acid (1.5-2.0M acid to 1M of solution is probably good enough) is probably a good idea. Make absolutely sure to use an excess of acid in comparison to the base used earlier as this will help reclaim as much mescaline from the base form as possible. This is probably the part of the process where most people go wrong by not adding enough acid. An excess will not harm the purity and will certainly add to the resultant yield. This is because the acid will protonate the Nitrogen, forming a positive charge which can be coupled with the negative ion of the chloride/sulfate/citrate to form the salt (which is your final product). Further protonation is extremely unlikely if not impossible due the stability offered by the delocalised phenyl ring and the associated ethergroups.



It looks very easy tbh, I doubt you can go far wrong.


So in summary

1.Boil for as long and as hot as you can to drive the solvation of the mescaline raw products into the water solution
2. Add an excess of acid to form a salt that can be washed.
3. Extract the crystals by rapidly cooling the solution, use a filter if you can. A coffee filter is probably good enough tbh.
4. Wash the crystals that have formed with more acid to increase purity.

You may want to repeat step 2-4 a couple of times, particularly if it is a home cook as the equipment won't be ideal.

One tip... Freeze and thaw the cactus before boiling to really bust up the cell walls

edit: when I dossed with mescaline due to a pet cactus showing signs of death, it kicked my arse, took about 3 days for the waves to stop.

Also mash up the cactus into a fine a paste as possible before putting it into the water-base solution, it will save a lot of time in the boiling process ^^
