Re: Top 50 (Rap) Lyricists Of All Time...
And Mel-Man "helped" produce on all the tracks
Re: Top 50 (Rap) Lyricists Of All Time...
He did (at least some tracks on 2001), but I can kind of understand his albums getting 5 mics for the overall end product.wub wrote:Didn't Dre have his rhymes ghost written?
50 cent, on the other hand, (who has also allegedly had his rhymes ghost written) getting 50th place is a bit of a piss-take.

Production not the same as engineering though. If Dre is overseeing production there's no way he'd be pushing buttons on everything.

@Southstar - You sayin Nas and Redman aren't good??

given how long detox is taking to be done, he's had time to push buttons on about 9 albums by now

i dont think it has to do with just engineering though. im not really knocking dre, but he's just more of a conductor than a composer.wub wrote:Production not the same as engineering though. If Dre is overseeing production there's no way he'd be pushing buttons on everything.

Not a fan of Nas. Redman is quality in the same way as DMX and Ice cube are quality but top lyricists?Laszlo wrote:@Southstar - You sayin Nas and Redman aren't good??

Re: Top 50 (Rap) Lyricists Of All Time...
Yeah, I mean obviously it's all opinions, but yes. Redman's first album alone puts him up there.
