Yeah cause not liking someone is being jealous... Not everyone dreams of success, think about that.

I agree, but fame rather than success.

Biiiig mix, not as good as his Spectrm mix though!
He even does his own mix series with guests iirc.
Kid makes great tunes too:

If you guys can't agree that he is well past his peers then you guys are crazy. I don't care if you don't like his productions. At least give him that. And if that's not merit enough to give him praise, then get the fuck out. Why do you go into a thread of an artist that you don't like? Just to bash him? Internet bullies. Every last one of you.

sure he's hype

but damn, this hate on him is unwarranted. the kids 15 ofc he isn't going to be a great DJ, what do you expect? we've got enough of these "i've been mixing since i was 10" DJs who can barely string a set w/o me yawning.

he'll improve. just needs the hype to die down (ie get swamp81, MAH etc to get off his dick)

No one owes the kid anything and he's not entitled to everyone's praise automatically just because he's 15 years old. Whats the matter with you?

Half of that comment was a joke. I'm sorry if it didn't come across that way...

But I'm just confused on why people are giving it to him so hard. It doesn't make any sense. Yeah his productions aren't instant classics. Yeah his DJing is not perfect. But he's 15. Hype or not he deserves respect for being way past other kids his age and way past a lot of people on this forum. I couldn't tell how many shitty tracks I've listened to in people's signature for years. (I trolled along time before signing up)

It's probably the Shoreditch dress code.. when he lives in Leeds.

I think that we should recognize that he is talented when it comes to making music. I wouldn't say that he sounds like anything that Boddika & Joy O are really doing or that he sounds like what Blawan is trying to do. He does fit in closer with stuff that like, Paleman is trying to do, but that's whatever - hopefully he'll be able to expand his sound palette with time.

It is of course disappointing to see that the tracklist for his mix consists almost entirely of forthcoming tracks, but then again, it's understandable why he would do that. I mean, if you're a kid, right, and all of a sudden you get loads of cool promos, what else are you going to do but freak out and play them as much as you can? I think that we can hope that, with time, he'll mature and figure out that playing a set consisting almost entirely of promotional tracks won't exactly endear anyone to their audience - I mean, all he has to do is look at Jackmaster's fabric mix and see that he only played like, what, 2, 3 (?) promo tracks, and nothing from his own label.

Either way, props to him for working hard and getting lucky.

I just don't get why everyone is like oh he is so great for 15, he is well past his peers. who gives a fuck if he is 15, if he has been making beats for like 3 years, he is gonna be better than some 20 something who has been at it for a year. I just dont think there is anything special about his tunes, or palemans tunes, or theffts tunes or any of those other guys, yes the tunes are shit, but i just aint feeling them. there is nothing in this tracklist that makes me wanna listen to the mix either.

because it's uncommon for someone to have such a good ear at his age.

yeah this exactly.

Also, "there is nothing in this tracklist that makes me wanna listen to the mix either" - if you listened to it you might change your mind? Unless you have and you really just didn't like it, that's fair enough.

Walking in with a strong opinion isn't going to change your mind drastically. You already made a point to dislike the kid. :W:

I enjoy playing devils advocate and have a lot of spare time at work. Funny that some kid from the UK hates that another kid from the UK is getting attention. :corncry:
