Massive is a decent synth that you can do a lot with - most of james blakes album is with massive (& a prophet 08)

It sounds plasticy raw but if you process/mix it well its as good as you make it.
Completely agree, there's nothing wrong with massive itself, but plasticky is definitely the word for the sounds most people get out of it
