I wouldn't worry about it. Finish the song, if you don't end up wanting to post it then you got more practice. If you accidentally sounded like Megalodon too...that's pretty cool. Pat yourself on the back for that one. Mixing tip: your drums are too loud.

people keep telling me my tunes sound like X and Y etc. I'd probably think of it in a positive way but yeaahhh just keep making tunes because as has been mentioned before, you will start to develop a sort of "signature sound" before long. Not sure if I can really talk, all my tunes sound completely different but yeh ;).

I used to be that obsessed with having my own 'style' that I used to delete basslines, beats, anything that even remotely sounded like something i'd heard before. Now i couldn't care less, It's impossible to sound 100% original. We as producers just make slight variants of music that already exists.
