  • Start finishing tracks more often
  • Do more sessions dedicated to sound design
  • Finish the EP I've been working on too long
  • Sample more
  • Get better at playing the guitar, and start recording to implement in my productions

lots of good posts..

lots of bad posts..

saying you want to "do more" has no quantifiable value. You need to set a goal to do XX tracks in 2013, or something that you can monitor. That way, when you meet your goals you have a positive reinforcement. You definitively know that you have reached your goal. If you fail, you have to step back and evaluate the situation. There's a smart way to growing.

-I will release my first EP, 4-8 tracks.
-I will be recreating every Dr. Luke song I can get my hands on in 320.

These are my only significant goals. The rest, improving work on the keys, mixing, that's a given. Why discuss wanting to get better at mixing? It should be blatantly obvious.

hahahahaha. the best part is I saw his post and thought exactly that. but it's DSF what can you do. someone will see my post and hopefully it will make a difference.

I learned that shit from my youth wrestling coach. He would make us fill out goals (educational, sporting, life, religious) for ourselves every season. He encouraged us to read them every day and keep them posted in a place you frequent, picture the bottom of a bunked or the corner of a mirror. It makes a difference. It's a little thing that pays off, dedication. :U:

To successfully create a Jazz-hop track that's piano lead, in 5/4 and utilizes a Koan sound-esque bass noise.

-2 tracks a month
-Network more to get some production buddies (online and in real life) :w:
-Spend at least 30 mins a day doing something to make me a better producer (Reading, practising, writing ideas down etc.)
-Make an album (a proper album not just a long EP, probably based on a story or something)

1. Give 3 EP's away in 2013. First EP is already done and out being mastered ready for Januray.
2. Upgrade my Soundcloud to a paid one so i can send tunes to more groups and enable more downloads.
3. Sample more obscure/Weird stuff from various sources.
4. Promote my music/Connect with more fans.
5. Learn some Keyboard theory.
6. Finish more tracks

►Finish a single track properly, including a full mixdown and master.
►Rinse and repeat this to finish a decent EP.
►Concentrate on sound design, especially for stuff like film/game fx.
►Look into film/tv music.
►Start trying to promote more stuff through radio/dj set plays, which I've let slip the past few months.
