chipmusic can only be made in a certain bpm range?

what the fuck are you on.
I said MOST.. Not ONLY.

It's also usually in the VERY HIGH BPM ranges like 150's, 170's, and way up there.
Because of the limit of channels, to make a long bassline/lead it needed to be sped up.
Picture you only get 16 blocks for a not.
You get 5 channels to create an instrument in.
And 4 measures per instrument.

It HAS to be sped up in order for a long line of notes to sound better and all together at a faster pace, while the drums played further apart on the 1st measure and 3rd measure.
Also 120 was just a nice feel to it.

I'm just trying to experiment with the variety of Electronic music.

Isn't the majority of Dubstep based on the half-time pattern?
Isn't the majority of House based on the 4x4 pattern?

You don't have to be a Scott about it. (He's a dick.)

Why dont you just listen to some trap and figure out how to make a trap beat, like most people do, and not just ask how to make a trap beat lol.

You dont have to tie things down to a formula, if you start making music because it 'should sound exactly like this' then its gonna be boring and like every other tune of that kind

i don't understand any of this. what does the tempo of the piece of music has to do with the channels used in the daw? i'm really slow so bare with me!

also if you're figured out the "dubsterp pattern" or whatever already then why cant you hear that trap is ALSO halftime on 140 or so

by doing this, and limiting electronic music to tempo's you are really cutting out the experimenting.

you can put a snare on any single beat you want, maybe experiment with that first, unless ur skrlix h e lieks it o n nien al hte tiem beacues htne it suodns liek havey maetl :5: :5: :5: :5: :5: :5: :5:

just sample a cow and play reversed snare drums over it while wearing your grandma's petticoat

there was this one time at boot camp when i stuck a frog up a cow's arse and made it moo an 808, still use that sample today
