Yep, i paid 10 quid to get in to the worst club in Brighton in the hope of hearing some good garage, he played strictly house, the really bad kind of pop/club stuff..Mix looks good though, cheers for the link.

Everyone always going on about a 2step revival and i totally agree, but dosent seem to be anyone out there making this kind of stuff at a high enough quality. Maybe im not listening to the right stuff?

What you listening to, haven't seen shit on the new 2 step front apart from the dubstep variants (TRG, Martyn, Burial, etc)

there are probably more, but Duncan Powell and Karl Tuff Enuff Brown are two artists still recently making superb 2-step and 4x4, but they never really went away...

Let's hope there might be a revival when the bassline house people get bored of 4/4 beats and go for dropping some out and creating a completely original form of music that's got nothing to do with the history of garage cause it's like NOT A LONDON THING

Be keen to hear the mix. Thing about wookie and MJ cole at the time was, they remixed everything in the signature 2 step style, (skippy beats and running basslines mostly with the odd bit of mr oizo type of wobble) usually though to the detriment of their real actual 2 step garage tunes, of which during the period most of wookies remixes were done for this mix, there was a lot of quality stuff around, both their own and others. To me it kind of cheapened the genre. In retrospect having a lot of 2 step remixes of neo soul and r'n'b may have hastened garages demise and severely dwindled it's fanbase.

I think, as with lessons learnt from d'n'b in trying to out hard and out dark the competition and in doing so alienating the females who couldn't dance to it anymore so too can dubstep learn from the mistakes of garage/2 step.
