In the military we used them to mark locations from afar, same with smoke grenades.
IE: green glowstick at night, this is our FOB, red wounded needing medic here.

Another good use for glowsticks:

Remove safety cage of pedestal fan. Snap glowsticks to activate, gaffer tape various colours to the fan blades.
Cut off ends of glowsticks, turn off lights, switch on fan and enjoy.

absolutely love long exposure photography. trying to to it without a cable release is bitch doe.

you need a cable release or just use your timer.
