Or maybe people want to hear a song they really love without fast forwarding to exactly 01:41:16 in a mix and then having to rewind it if they want to replay it?

And then once they've cut the song from the mix, why not put it up on Youtube so others can hear it too? Not everyone's scheming

cue le excuses.

no reason to not wait a week and help the sound rather than hinder it for views, and stop playing blind and pretending that's not the reason these guys do it. smh.

from when the main point of this thread is about someone asking for bookings from merely ripping tunes, don't play devils advocate and say they do it for other reasons bar themselves. i swear some of you guys are so quick to jump on my posts that you don't even know what you're saying. big up guys hindering the sound for themselves.

I'm all for mysterious dub exclusivity, but when you end your BBC show on a full, uninterrupted play of your dubplate, you do it because you're fine with people ripping and sharing it. Or you're an idiot, which I refuse to believe Mala is.

that's exactly why i made my channel.

i do agree that people getting gigs from uploading tunes is absurd though

Come on now. I'd totally understand the essential mix having no Anti-War Dub VIP, no Way Mi Defend remix, and no Changes remix, precisely because people WILL rip them if they are there. If the producers wanna keep the dubs exclusive, so be it. You lot are talking like cutting from a radio show is the same as nicking dubplates from the record bag.

As far as getting booked for these obvious uploads, that's on stupid promoters, not the uploaders.

PAL, at least attempt to read the thread before jumping on the hate bandwagon.

i absolutely agree

*sigh* of course they're gonna be upped ffs. it's more the fact that these guys couldn't wait a week. no worries doe, more views for these youtube seekers, and less listening figures on the bbc means that we'll only have to wait another few years for an essential mix in this sound.

and i dunno who listens to rips of tunes rather than an essential mix, that's disrespect to mala in itself. im still bumping daft punk's mix from 97 and shys from 2005. come correct please.

Alright man. I agree with going to the BBC website so we can get more essential mixes from actual good DJs. I also agree listening to the full mix is better, for a slew of reasons, like getting introduced to new music, appreciating the work of the DJ you have to thank for your mixcut, etc. I guess I just think uploads so unavoidable that one can't blame anyone specific for it. It's like drug dealing or something. Someone's gonna do it.
