Do they have front teeth?, I find the ones without front teeth easier to keep happy on a modest income.

I'm sure nearly everyone here as at some point moaned about how poor they are, I know I have. Yet there are people who would look at what every single one of you have and wouldn't be able to comprehend ever having as much.

It's not the point of the article, but what we should take from it is that we should be thankful for what we have. As shit could always be a lot worse.

Of course it's all relative - to how much you spend! You can earn no money but live without it, or earn 100k and throw it all down the drain on cars and Waitrose.

Sure it is, that's my point though. You can easily say spending 100k a year on cars and Waitrose is 'throwing it down the drain' but people far poorer than ourselves would see the money we all spend on, I dunno, records as 'throwing it down the drain'. In the same way, if we were to suddenly get too poor to go out raving a couple of times a month, we might complain about it, but that's still a luxury in the same way that designer handbags are for people on 100k.

Obviously the further you are on the 'poor/rich' spectrum, the more vulgar it is to complain about being 'poor', but my point is, we're all probably way further along that spectrum than many yet I'm sure most of us have complained about money before (though granted, not in a column in the Daily Mail).

Mate you should try living in Tokyo, even though it's the most expensive city on the planet it's vulgar to talk about the cost of things...

Anything above necessities is middle class on global standards though. I don't actually think people should necessarily 'be happy with what they've got' though, since the amount that rich people rip off poor people by is so big many people should be getting paid more for their work....
