Ugh. When someone says 'its wack' they ARE saying 'it's not my cup of tea'. It's the same thing, except the former isn't sugarcoated for overly sensitive people. There's nothing constructuve about 'it's not to my liking' either. If a friend said that about my music, I wouldn't have a clue how to rework it to make it better for them either (not that I would).

If someone just came into this thread ranting about how terrible it is and telling to go fuck themselves for liking it, THAT'S just annoying.. But fuck it, if comes into this thread with an open mind or curiously, listens to it and hates it, aren't they allowed to say it? Most of my friends are disappointed with the album and like I've stated before, I wanna give it another listen before I make up my mind on it. So I totally understand the negative response on it.

Christ, I'm not saying nobody can vocalize his opinion. I'm not asking anybody to sugarcoat anything.

"I don't like it because X" is preferable to "It sucks lol"

Don't try to tell me "King Krule is wack" is the same as "I'm not a fan King Krule"

You don't understand that other people's taste may differ to yours?
no, that isn't what i said. I said I don't understand how people enjoy THIS particular bit of music. That doesn't mean I have no comprehension of other people's taste differing from mine. Sick of that tired ass response.

Well some people like Coldplay and the Jonas Brothers, I don't but I can still understand how some people may tolerate or indeed enjoy them, much as I can with ALL MUSIC!

and for the record I haven't even listened to it yet, I just thought the statement about not understanding how anyone could possibly tolerate or enjoy it to be fucking stupid, people like all kinds of stuff

never said those who enjoy it are stupid. I do think the people who made it are stupid, tho.

what are we supposed to d here, give MK constructive criticisms? It's not as tho they'r gonna revise their album

2013
being fussed about people saying "this music is wack" on a music discussion forum

I have no problem with you saying it's wack, if anything I'd prefer that, it was the comment about not understanding how anybody else could possibly enjoy it that annoyed me

i don't understand it though. it's drab as all fuck
the reasons people have for listening to the Jonas's or Coldplay is clear ... the songwriting and production is crafted toward a mainstream audience who likes stuff that sounds inoffensive and catchy... the mixes are perfect, because industry masters have engineered it. It's not hard to understand

This does my head in. It's shit music, lacks anything resembling groove, they sound like they are allergic to sounding good. like once a track approaches some nice section they stop playing the bit that sounded interesting and swamp the whole thing in stupid reverb

This CD should be called "i can use reverb and stupid hipsters will think it's deep"

Just listened to it.

It lacks a lot of what made the first album interesting to listen to, the songwriting & choice of sounds are pretty uninspiring at times. Saw them live the other week, and the older tunes 'Carbonated', 'Before I Move Off' etc sounded much fresher than the new stuff, much more inventive. The live drummer didn't add anything either, he swamped the tunes with rides & crashes, lost any subtlety in their drum programming because of it, spose a way of creating a cheap 'climax' to a song when they just nod at him to say: "play really fucking loud".

I really don't think it's bad at all tbh. Personal preference okay. I agree it's not as creative and catchy as their previous work but I can still enjoy listning to it. Seems like their going for a Darkstar-ish feel with the vocal work. As far as King Krule goes, I'm really not a fan, but I might build up a taste for it. I remember when I first heard Okmalumkoolkat's stuff with LV, while the beats were tight the vocals threw me off. But now I love it, so who knows what'll come out of this.
