I think about this subject a lot.

Writer/Director: Jodorowsky
Because I would like to see him put a dark twist on his form of shamanism/therapy which he calls 'psychomagic'. It's basically a form of unconscious 'dream therapy'. All kinds of bad shit lurks inside people's minds that they themselves often don't even realise.

Writer/Cinematographer: David Lynch
I don't think he has much interest in directing any more, and is more or less a 'student' of Jodorowsky in ways so I'd love to see an actual collaboration. Not many people are as much of a perfectionist when it comes to specific shots or sets. Films need more of that meticulous attention to detail that keeps me watching again to notice new things.

Cast: I'd prefer a cast of mostly unknowns but I like Charlotte Gainsbourg, and maybe Laura Dern could play some kind of therapist.

Soundtrack: Mostly dark ambient but Lynch collaborating with various artists would be great. Lustmord, Kevin Martin, and I'd love to hear Burial work with Lynch's signature vocoded vocals.

Also if E Elias Merhige could do some of those Begotten effects for parts of the film, like the dreams maybe, that would be amazing.

It's about 2 young hot shot architects who are completely arrogant obnoxious...suprema stnuc - greedy gentrifiers
and they have this big "shopping mall" project to do in some marginilized forgotton yet beautiful remote european town...
(I would spend alot of time expressing their lifestyle - lifestyles of the rich and urban)

So the one goes ahead to start working the site (the Johnny Depp character)...

I'd like the thing to boil down to an epic arguement of the minds...the anti-Atlas Shrugged
architecture for the people - no dead monuments
the living arts

I sort of liken this one to The Fall - but I'm not sure how...
Because I like the way it mixes a sort of romanticized/vintage notions of real life with the fantastical...

that people don't know if there is anything beyond the city...it's sort of a myth - the nature beyond

and that cult favorite with the isolation tank...Altered States

Because their reality is an encaged one - encaged in the city

kind-of-matrix-ie in concept...

like the stories about being born into an experimental space camp
unbenownst to their own population - because someone wants to study human life in confines
so they can engineer living in spaceships...

this is a newer idea - like a sketch in my head
very dystopian - I just saw Zardoz recently - loved it...
If you like Jodorowsky - you will like Zardoz...

Yeah I do like Zardoz actually haha. Also THX1138, but I disliked the updated/edited one, I prefer the plain 60s version. 1984 is better I think, I love that style of dry scifi. Stalker as well...

Yeah I don't mind imdb ratings much lol. Thanks, I found some fan trailer and that looks great. I'm familiar with Zulawski as his name has come up a few times when discussing cinema with people, but I've only seen what someone let me borrow a good while back and that was Devil and Possession. Really enjoyed them both but Possession more so. His stuff has been on my to-watch list for time, so that one just got bumped to the top.

Also yeah I know about that Dune. That would have been something... but I still like Lynch's Dune even if he doesn't. I'm looking forward to seeing this, it's at Cannes right now.
