Apparently the edl protested just down the road from me in alwoodley on some bridge near sainsburies. It's like the whitest area ever (well a bit jewish but idk how they feel about them) and they kind of stood around for a bit and then went home cos noone came out to shout at them.

I think the suggestion for anti-EDL types to stay on the periphery and hand out their leaflets and engage with people, rather than going for the EDL directly, is a good one. It does validate them to an extent if you have people there shouting back at them. You're not going to make them see the error of their ways in that arena so I'm not sure what good it really does.

Who here wants to march in support of EDL's, and anyone's, freedom of speech and against the state's authoritarian and fascist regime against the right to protest?
I used to feel strongly this way but now idk....would be better for some of these fuckers to just be put in re education camps so their fucked up ideology can quit influencing society
