Never seen/heard a pull up before? I remember everyone calling the guy that pulled the record back an idiot on YT. I guess they haven't either.

I would be lying if I said I haven't bought some of those records he played because of that set. He's definitely a great selector.

the pull-up goes back to dub culture, while it's not a technique many house/techno oriented DJs use it's not something that's alien or a UK oddity, just gets rinsed a lot in UK circles because MCs love it

And yeah the guy who did it is a real nice DJ himself too, playing with the Hessle Audio boys in room 1 at fabric next week. Don't think he was trying to jump in like 'yeah, I can do that', just wanted to show some appreciation for a throwdown set

As in, house music, is not music that you 'pull back' or 'wheel', or whatever when mixing. It's not hype music like Grime or Dubstep, its meant for smoother blends, and when a tune has like a 3 min intro you dont wanna go through hearing it again.
