I was underwhelmed by Sick, as good as it is. Think they're capable of something better.
i think Sick is err sick. very understated, but the groove is absolutely ridiculous

Memory Loss i think is on a variety of N-Type mixes, including the aforementioned dubstep allstars. its a behemoth

I'm not going to be buying that lol

Ahh well I'll wait

Sick probably is sick just thought it was pretty generic sounding

It's 90mins into that show

lol ney probs

the sample isn't so comic, its actually just quite horrible. in a club it makes for a serious crackout. sick though

yeh fo sho. its also really quite old now, so that probably affects it, its a long way from the kinetic stuff we've come to expect

but in a club its devastatingly big

The old sample from an American horror/sci fi thing feels well retro already

It's like a flash back to 2006

its true!

its funny actually, nothing seems to be proper menacing darkside anymore

its all deep, euphoric, ravey, or just really rajy. where has the smouldering menace gone. i kind of miss it.

I dunno I find some of it a bit too cartoonish now, sort of 'look how scary this tune is' style...

Think I've got negative associations through being a scowling pillhead at tech itch nights while at uni though...

yeh perhaps, but some of it i find genuinely unsettling, in a satisfying way. this tune is what im thinking of primarily, in a club, lean, it was pretty genuinely intense.

and to be fair even the cartoonish stuff is sick if i enjoy the rhythms and textures... stuff like Goat Stare for example, the sample is really quite funny, but its so massive that the sample just sets a good tone for the tune, its all just quite amusingly big

No doubt. I'm naturally drawn towards dark stuff anyway, but I like it in combination with more soulful/uplifting stuff really...

Like in some jungle tunes you get the rinse out huge booming 808s and amens and then halfway through a pad comes in and it turns euphoric almost.

yeh, i am playing devils advocate of course, cos too much darkness would definitely bore me, and euphoria is definitely something i seek. but i still like a bit of pure darkside once in a blue moon
