Those Presonus Eris sounded fantastic in comparison to the Mackies and Rokits when I listened to them at a shop not long ago. Great stereo image...bright non fatiguing highs...mids were clear and not hyped. Low end seemed appropriate for the size of the speaker.Icetickle wrote:What about Presonus Eris E5?

Sounds too good for the price.fragments wrote:Those Presonus Eris sounded fantastic in comparison to the Mackies and Rokits when I listened to them at a shop not long ago. Didn't even know they came out with a Generation 3Icetickle wrote:And is a generation 3 of rokit's better?
They came out recently (a mounth or two ago I think) and some people said that there are more details when it comes to treble now. That's all in comparison to the others I listened to. They certainly sounded like 300 dollar monitors.Icetickle wrote:Sounds too good for the price.fragments wrote:Those Presonus Eris sounded fantastic in comparison to the Mackies and Rokits when I listened to them at a shop not long ago. I just met some folks that make music/effects for movies and have these 4000 euros K&H monitors.outbound wrote:I use K&H O300's
For that price range I would go for Rokit 8's
cmon.. they're really not that bad. it's so easy to complain about monitors..better put some work in and do a good mixdown with some krk's..fragments wrote:Hrm...I'd have to listen to be convinced...because the rokit line (I've heard and worked on to some extent the 5s, 6s, and 8s) and they are really pretty shit IMO for how much they cost...
The low mids are just disgusting, the low end is hyped, the highs are fatiguing...I couldn't believe the difference when I worked on other monitors in the price range. I'd really almost, almost recommend berhinger over the rokits TBH...
I worked on krk rokit 6 g2s for years and don't like them. I easily put in thousands of hours on them and them upgraded to something better and have worked on many others in the price range. I think they are hype. I did plenty of good mixes on them but know the work is easier on my equator D5s. The berihinger comment was a low blow. I stand by the rest.sidi wrote:cmon.. they're really not that bad. it's so easy to complain about monitors..better put some work in and do a good mixdown with some krk's..fragments wrote:Hrm...I'd have to listen to be convinced...because the rokit line (I've heard and worked on to some extent the 5s, 6s, and 8s) and they are really pretty shit IMO for how much they cost...

the only thing i don't really like about my rokit5s is the design, but they do a good job as a mixing tool.

The D8's are incredible for the money, really balanced and with a great bass response. I really liked them, a really good set of accurate monitors for under 700 quid.fragments wrote:If you live in the US and arent running D5s you are missing out. Plain and simple. They have 8in monitors now if you need more bass. Really nothing in the price range (new) stands up to the Equator D series .difference wrote:fragments wrote:I use Equators D5s.
Yea. I really feel like I should upgrade to the D8s, but I'm very glad to be running the D5s. They are pretty unforgiving and are a real pleasure to mix on. Problems become immediately apparent.Tom_Autobot wrote:The D8's are incredible for the money, really balanced and with a great bass response.
