Some great stuff posted, but not really what I'm looking for. There's great sound design but I'm looking for similar chords progressions and melodies. and symphonic stuff. And preferably no synths or vocals.

Not what I'm looking for. Especially from the synths, I just don't get the feeling of it.
Know any movie soundtracks like the Psycho or Vertigo soundtracks with similar piano parts?

good heavy stuff and sounds like a good time.
wolf89: that Nurse with Wound one reminded me of this sample lol http://www.custompredatorcalls.com/Soun ... erRasp.wav
The Per Mission 'In Full View' towards the middle is kinda what I'm talking about. more so than anything else thats been posted.
and that last one was nice but that repetitive 'marshmallow man' sample just killed it... I checked out some other stuff from Schloss Tegal and its pretty creepy
Genevieve wrote:Tho sorry OP but you should just get used to harsh vocals tbh.
I'm used to them and I ignore them in a lot of metal but it's just so lame in black metal for the most part, especially if it's really dry/no reverb.
And Xasthur's alright... I guess. It'd probably sound better live... ;(
edit: I was actually thinking of lustmord when I read the xasthur suggestion. forgot which album I had listened to, it was pretty good.
haha toccata and fugue in d minor is too van halen/yngwie malmsteen/virtuoso-esque wanky. and those first three notes are too flamboyant
and im not interested in dubstep for this, sorry...

just to reiterate, I'm not looking for electronic beats or vocals. nor anything harsh or noisy. or slow dark ambient textures by themselves. I'm looking for chords, harmonies and riffs similar to the sections in the songs I posted, with predominantly acoustic instruments.

Italian horror soundtracks and Popol Vuh's soundtrack for "Nosferatu." Maybe Bohren und der Club of Gore too.
