yeah we worked out about 1100 in total for flights, plus in japan we'd be staying with my gfs best mate so that'll be cheap!wub wrote:That's a pretty balling amount of savings, reckon you do it right you can live well for that. Have you looked into flight cost variations based on the seasons etc?gwa wrote:got enough to go for around 8-9 months if were saying a G a month and flights but i doubt i'll be gone for that long. see how it works out, won't be booking a return flight when i book my outgoing[

if we like a certain place in india we've also decided we'll volunteer at hostels so should be absolutely kosher for cash
good idea, but i think it would demoralize me if i didn't follow my timeline properlywub wrote:So you don't feel you would benefit from putting an actual amount on it (for example, a tune a month or something)?
all of the above! i always seem to have a good time when im out with my mates, (no matter what seems to go wrong haha, broke my collarbone on saturday night, and it was jokes) so maybe thats why sitting in seems so boring to mewub wrote:I agree that forcing yourself out the house isn't always preferable, much as I enjoy a weekend on the sofa or in front of the computer from time to time. However, getting out is always a good thing. When you say going out, do you mean to listen to music, to go walking in the country, into town for drinks etc?
Or motivate you to stop procrastinating? The idea of setting goals is to make yourself accountable to completing them, so you have a more defined target you want to aim for.Trainrek wrote:good idea, but i think it would demoralize me if i didn't follow my timeline properlywub wrote:So you don't feel you would benefit from putting an actual amount on it (for example, a tune a month or something)?

Probably lack of motivation in general, like I'll tell myself 'go and practice mixing for a while' or 'go and revise that area of maths you don't get' but the moment I run into a (metaphorical) brick wall I seem to lose my motivation then end up wasting time doing generally nothing because 'fuck it what's the point'. Granted this doesn't happen all the time but often enough for me to want to address the issue.wub wrote:A little vague and hard to really say whether they've done or not. What do you consider to be the main cause of your procrastination? Is it a lack of motivation in a given area, or too many distractions in other areas?GreenWaffle wrote:Stop procrastinating as much as I do now
Digital would be a lot easier/cheaper, assuming it's self released and not on a label.chekov wrote:getting a vinyl release at least in the pipelines would be nice
i can't decide if it's worth waiting for vinyl or go for sumat digi first
i'd probably rather try and find a labelwub wrote:Digital would be a lot easier/cheaper, assuming it's self released and not on a label.chekov wrote:getting a vinyl release at least in the pipelines would be nice

Evening classes, though you might also want to check Gumtree for language speakers in your area. Mate of mine got his Spanish up to scratch in exchange for teaching someone how to use the guitar in a sort of barter skills exchange.Liam92 wrote:EDIT: Somehow fit in a part-time language course (German probably)
Can't recommend a budget spreadsheet enough for this. Column for income, then a column for all outgoings inc. desired level of saving per month. Remaining value/4 is your spending money for each week.Liam92 wrote:- Save money each month rather than spend every single penny every month (most likely won't happen)
That's great, mate. What weight are you now if you don't mind my asking, and what exercise do you do?ehbrums1 wrote:Get down to 185 pounds
