Stuff i used to here on radio then Micheal Jackson, Del la soul, Aswad, Rap...Public Enemy, NWA, Ice cube, Snoop Dogg, Easy E, Dre, Biggy, 2pac....

Then came old skool rave house kinda stuff like SL2, Liquid, Ratpack, Baby D, Altern-8 that kinda shizzle... Started hearing abit of garage then actually.

Then came Fantasia(I only found out the other day they were still runnin), Labrynth, Dreamscape, Club UK, Slipmatt, Sy and the old Hardcore tapepacks wasnt really feelin the Hardcore vibe to much but i loved the darker tunes with the breakbeats...

Which lead on to Jungle! Hype, Andy C, Omni Trio, Congo Natty, Mickey finn, Kenny Ken, Grooverider, Randall, Darren Jay, Zinc, Mampiswift, etc etc Awol, United dance, Dreamscape, Seduction, Desire, One Nation, T.O.V. Jungle got me listening to Reggea and Dub!

Then.... heard alot of Garage music from my mate walsh at school, Nice and ripe, Strictly Rythum the i started buyin both jungle (which was becomin more DNB) and garage, This was wen i found Big apple Records in croydon, before i was shopping at waxcity and Blackmarket. Then through a speed garage stage, then i gradually started playing out garage on Radio and in clubs.

As the scene was getting bigger I started hearing darker stuff through apple records, El B, Zed Bias, Oris Jay, Horsepower and then i found my home! As the music grew I religiously went to FWD>> and started producing, then i left Delight Fm to go to Rinsefm and now im here. In the last few years of DJing and traveling I started hearing more Techno, House and I like some of it.

Thats were I came from!

Not bad seeing as I lived in Surrey and had to mission it on buses and trains all the time wid no money. It was fun doh, I been about for time!

Never by chance, grew up on Clapton / Dylan / Hendrix / Floyd etc ..... then since Helter Skelter 94 @ Denbeigh Leisure centre started loving dance music and then a progression through D'n'B / hip hop / techno / UKG / Grime til today.

0-12 - don't even remember what I listened to..

13 - only Limp Bizkit and Crazy Town :P

14-17 - only jungle/dnb (Dieselboy, Hype, Tech Itch, Zinc, The Ganja Krew, DJ SS, Dillinja and others)

17-18 - reggae, dancehall, breakbeat hardcore, jungle/dnb (more experimental. favs. Aaron Spectre, Enduser, Bong-Ra), acid/nu -jazz and different experimental stuff

19 - ... all the stuff I listened to at the age of 17-18 + minimal techno, dubstep (more industrial side and breakstep), grime and my new find - grindie!

Punk and Indie Rock (the real shit, not music mag style punk and indie)

started when I heard At the drive-in on radio just before they got big, couldnt believe shit that noisy was aloud on radio!
then it was Minor Threat, Jawbox, Fugazi... Dischord records..
thats how I got into the DIY attitude, thru the DC hardcore scene.
then from there I got more and more into different bits of punk and indie.. emo, thrash, 80s HC, anarcho, then later slowcore, shoegaze, noise punk..
and around the same time as above, few years ago now, I went to music tech school, and people were saying "dubstep" so i checked it, and ive been hooked since, bout two years now. safe.

Interesting!

Looks like a lot of people have come from very varied backgrounds!

Hopefully it will all reflect in the music being released.

Industrial>Metal>Industrial>German Techno>Belgian Techno>Swedish Techno>Ghetto Tech>Booty>Grime>Breaks>Garage>House>Dub Reggae>Dubstep

but not necessarily in that order.

I consider myself a "Techno" person, but I've always been a fan of all kinds of music. I had my little hardcore and trance phases as well, but they were short lived lol. I tend to lean toward the more minimal housey/garage techno vibe stuff, but every now and then like the killer shit. Never been a fan of the coma.
