Discogs should add a feature to there search engine who allow people to just ignore certain sellers...

Yeah this has been highly requested. There was a greasemonkey script that worked for a while that let you block sellers, but it's stopped working now due to some site updateTaiken wrote:Discogs should add a feature to there search engine who allow people to just ignore certain sellers...
Re: Vinyl buyers&Producers alike. I need help. (Stop-MushiMu
i'm with you op.
in my experience the only justified 'high-priced' seller is dobshizzle... no issues buying from him
vinyl_vendour, tanmushimushi, snaps_provalone are all stnuc though
here's what four tet had to say about mushimushi a year or so ago: https://twitter.com/FourTet/status/297442152013766656

I've made three orders with Dobshizzle in the past and had a problem with all of them. Messaged him about one of these and he never got back to me. Never again.grillis wrote:in my experience the only justified 'high-priced' seller is dobshizzle... no issues buying from him

What a tnuc and stnuc like him!
Sure it may not affect the producers, they still get their money, but it hurts the fans and the scene in general. Why should some sellers be snapping up a large proportion of a limited 500 press run when they don't even give a shit about the music, I want the tunes!

i've always hated this tnuc. pops up every day on my new items message selling newly released £7 12"s for £55 or even £110, he was selling a copy of randomer - bring, (currently in stock in some shops) for like £250 recently iirc
its not so much a case of him 'ruining the industry' as it is him giving the vinyl marketplace a bad name. if people like him and vinyl_vendor didn't exist I think discogs would be more popular and would be held in high regard by more people, these ridiculous prices are just seedy and downright shameful tbh. plus he's taking advantage of new record collectors who don't realise that his copies are no different from anyone else's, and no that's not really their fault for being stupid. theres so many people on his feedback page saying how great his service was who clearly don't recognise the scam going on here

Big up to Vivek - straight from his twitter:
"Discogs taking the piss ... Defo repressing SYSTM 002 .. Bigup @Karma_Beatz"
Now I can actually cop this release for a fair price

tbh this stuff doesn't annoy me as much as it used to, whenever I come across the guys with mad prices I just look for something new, there's too much good stuff about to be spending £50 on a single 12". Nobody is forcing you to buy from these guys, and as crazy as it sounds there are people willing to pay crazy prices which in some way makes what they do logical. I will never forget the day I bought Scuba's Adrenalin for £8 and got on discogs to see someone had bought it for £70.
I would say one of the good things about these guys is they force you to be extra vigilant and to dig a bit deeper, which is never a bad thing

looool
bigup for phoning him and telling him off
hes a fuckign mug, i cant stand people who sell shit for hyped up prices on discogs. making more money off vinyls than the artists themselves did. thats not cool. i feel taht way about pretty much all "antiques" tbh. and hes a dick for hording copies of limited presses. like serious dick, cos thats robbing ~10 or so genuine music lovers of owning a vinyl they deserve a lot more than him.
anyway, like ppl said nowt u can do except not buy from him.
hes not gonna sell them all anyway for those ridic prices, he probs doesnt even make that much p. if anything the people who actually buy them are more deserving of a slap to the dish than he is. much more deserving

That's the average price but the last copy was sold over 2 months ago, I can't blame people not wanting to sell it such a sick release, might pick up another copy.baddis98 wrote:002 is going for 9 euro average. don't know what the fuss is about...?

Suprised by the attitudes of a number of people towards this. People that do this deny real fans the chance of ownership in order to make a profit and take money out of the scene. Proper pricks imo and big up four tet and vivek for having none of it. Some of u lot are mad
Re: Vinyl buyers&Producers alike. I need help. (Stop-MushiMu
inb4 "it's different", but do you ever go to shops and buy stuff? You think if you grab some eggs from a supermarket, they aren't making more money on those eggs than the farmer? If you've got an issue with people making more off somebody else's product, then prepare to be very angry for your whole life.bennyfroobs wrote:hes a fuckign mug, i cant stand people who sell shit for hyped up prices on discogs. making more money off vinyls than the artists themselves did. thats not cool.
Not a fan of it, but doesn't bother me to the level of getting as wound up about it as others here are. Whatever he's selling on discogs for £500, somebody else is selling for £15. I've not come across a single piece where he's the sole seller. If he's selling Skream! for £1500, so what, I can just go and get it from Redeye for £12 or something.benjaminC wrote:Suprised by the attitudes of a number of people towards this. also, like I said, I've never seen him be the sole seller of a record. I just ignore him.
