Out of the three mentioned, I like hardstyle the least. But I was already coming out of my hard dance phase by the time that hardstyle was really taking over, so it was always a bit of a wane genre for me anyway.
Psy trance is alright for a laugh, I've had some good times at big fuck off 3000 capacity psy trance raves around Vauxhall in my youth, even though it is a genre built around a singe kick drum. But you can't listen to it on the regular, even with some of the 'better' artist albums there are floating about.
I've never liked any of those genres, but I went as Hyetal's plus one when he played at Glade year before last. He fell ill so I was on my js. Spent one night in the (wisely) separated Psy Trance field. The music was awful but I had loads of fun, people were all really smiley and happy, got some hot dreaded girl to smooth my aura with reiki or some other new age shit. I don't buy into the music or any of the culture, but can't deny it was good vibes and fun all round.

Nah that's prog house. Love the bit on Balance 005 where James Holden mixes it into Nathan Fake's Outhouse

Hardstyle is ridiculous to the point it's vaguely entertaining, hardtrance is boring but avoidable, psytrance is not only really really boring but also worryingly turns every so often up thanks to a random hippy showing up at a party. It' also is made even worse by the people who like it thinking that listening to the same kick drum and bass line for an entire night with some zapping noises over it is some massively deep profound thing just because of the insane amount of drugs they took before listening to it and so decide to go on about this relentlessly when you appear not to be enjoying it

Don't really get the hate on psytrance, I used to dig a bit and found some good tunes. I think Infected Mushroom's first LP is the best there is. Of course this is not the type of thing to listen to everyday.
Never been to a party though, I would feel out of place I guess.
