CDJs, no headphones.

i've never DJed vynil.

my CDJs show the wave form with a grid, fyi. i know some CDJs don't do that, and i imagine it would be pretty much impossible do DJ without headphones without being able to see the wave.

because you can see it right on the CDJ??? does everyone use CDJs that have this?

never come across that scenario tbh. only things i've used are my 2000 nexus, or a controller.

i guess i would use headphones in that situation? lol, i really dunno. but it's not hard to DJ without headphones when you can see the grid i imagine you all could do it.

see those 4 rectangles at the top of the screen? all you gotta do is get the 2 that are filled in to line up with the jogwheels. it's not that hard i'm really surprised at the reaction of this on here. i know lots of people that DJ without headphones irl.

also i don't own my CDJs 100%, they're collectively owned by a group of my friends so it's not like i shelled out $4000 for them without ever using cheaper CDJs. i just got lucky i guess.

yh there's no doubt that it's easy, just seems fradulent to me and not really djing. But each to their own.

well if you've previewed all the songs in rekordbox and set the grid properly then ur fine. the CDJs will not get them right if you don't do that.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

idgaf tbh. everything's fradulent these days unless your a deaf man dj'ing vinyl with a blindfold on so i really just dgaf.

i don't DJ alongside a live band if that's what you're asking lol.

if you're asking if the songs have drums off the grid, then it wouldn't really matter if you use headphones or not, you're not gonna be able to beatmatch them either way. what do you do with songs like that? so i suppose i wouldn't play them? although i've never come across a song like that that I wanted to play out so its pretty irrelevant.
