When did you start noticing this trend? It could be just due to the fact that Internet gets lazier during summer. If that's so, thing could go back to normal since September.

This is somewhat cynically toned, but it makes sense. People are out and about living their lives, both on and offline. They need to trip over your music as they go about their way. One way for that to happen is online, on forums. If I'm reading posts, invariably I'll check out tunes from posters.

I don't think you can think about soundcloud as place that will generate listens, it is just a place to have those listens occur. You've got to find other places/ways to drive people to the soundcloud. And for that, soundcloud is pretty good.

new sc is bulsshit i get the new message alert even tho i read the message i also cant mark them as read same thing with actions if someone liked my tune a month ago i still get the same alert every now an then

Its completely broken atm. they will sort it all out soon. I dont feel like i can complain because its free and it works (just about). but like u say u get random notifications form months ago and random msg alerts even if u read the message.

The funniest thing though, is it is getting worse. 1.0 was pretty stable. 2.0 has just been a disaster.

Dude...I seriously thought about something similar. What if you make a youtube video of 2014 TOP TEN SICKEST DROPS....and just put one of yours in between Skrillex and Zomboy. These videos draw millions of views.

I get this all the time, and it's the biggest let down. I get hyped that someone like a tune or gave me some feedback, but no, just soundcloud being shitty.

Dubstep died a while ago truth be told. Can't speak for soundcloud, Google just needs to buy it then turn it to YouTube...lol

My listeners have decreased sooo much on SC, but then I have hardly uploaded anything last couple of years.

One thing I have always noticed though, is my sig tracks here get the most plays, they normally tend to stay in the sig for quite a while before I change them, and if I'm on the boards a lot, plays increase.

Also used to spend a lot of time listening and commenting on others when I had the time, would click on random names all over the place, that helps too.

I have definitely received less attention on my SoundCloud over the last year or two. But then I haven't done anything with it in the last year or two. I should get off my ass and make some new music ö
