I lived in MK for 6 years. It is perhaps the squarest place I know.
If you can dent the hulking chavvy Oceana/Westwood culture, respect good sir.

MKs not so bad.. actually its fuckin good for skating(or at least used to be when i was in my teens). used to travel
up every weekend for about 3 years destroying their lovely new marble ledges
i reckon bedfords got 2 venues that would suit a dubstep night but then i am naturally bias and one of those
venues happens to be visible from my bedroom window
back to the topic i reckon i might be able to make it to newport pagnall 4 that nite....should make a change from having to spend £40-50 to go to london for fwd or dmz which is taking its toll on my gap year savings

theres nites that have been going since the start of the year in Hitchin, theres a forthcoming rave in Bedford, hopefully a regular one in MK and we're gonna run something in Luton soon
its all Home Counties, which like i say is easier than travelling to London all the time
theres enough heads out here no worries, we've seen that from previous dance attandances and the feedback on the radio show...
its moving anyways, thats what matters...

i can't imagine dubstep taking off there, in the same way i can't imagine any genre that isn't indie taking off there.
I wouldn't say that is the case...
MK is pretty bleak but it has played a pretty major part in the history of UK underground music throughout the whole of the 90's purely for the amount of raves that went off at the Sanctuary.

Nah thats fair enough mate. When you spend 20 years in the same town you get a bit jaded innit.
You're right, it was a kinda hub in rave culture, but i was a wee nipper at the time, so i don't appreciate properly.
Being a teenager in the keynes was fucking abysmal. I have no idea what goes on their now, so props to people that are setting that kinda thing up.
I'm a Stony lad anyway, which isn't even a proper part of milton keynes.

I know MK is a bit of a plastic town but i don't think you can write off any music scene developing there... I know a few of the dnb heads who was involved in some of the nights over there and back then they said they were building a nice little scene... it might not become a mecca for any sound but there is an audience for dubstep there!
I know people travelled from all over to attend the Sanctuary but with that now gone i think new nights round these ends are much needed and could do quite well...
I'm gonna try reach this one anyways... big ups the Sub Conscious crew for putting it on...
