The new admin control panel allows for one click deletion of a spammer, and all their associated posts. So removing it once it's appeared isn't difficult.

The issue is from the fact that it gets there in the first place, and unless a mod is online at the time to instantly jump on it, they'll be 50+ new threads from different accounts that clutter up the place and make it look untidy. General Discussion gets the worst of it, last nights was the first time I've seen it in SNH, so hopefully that was an abbreviation.

I've asked admin if there is a way we can have new user accounts still need to be 'activated' by a member of the moderating team.This should hopefully stop astrology@fastmail.fm style registered accounts from being activated and allow for deletion before they even start posting.
