When your putting something heavy on blast and your headphones fry.

nah, ear plugs are a must... tinnitus is not the one

regret being a reckless little tnuc for too long. both my ears are already relatively fucked but my right ear is a lot worse, to the point that i can tell a difference if i face my monitors with my left vs right side of my head. several times a week it'll start ringing out of nowhere for a minute or two. foam plugs sound like shit but im hesitant to drop cash on custom molded ones cause i'll lose them in no time

although i think it was one night in particular that did em in, standing a foot from a funktion stack with my right ear for like 2 hours. i remember joe nice playing pinch - grump and for a bit i wasnt sure if the ringing synth was my ears or actually part of the track lol

I have to live in industrial areas or in specially-designed bunkers half a kilometre away from normal people
and when, rarely now, I get to dance in a club, I have to wait for neophyte try-hards to fuck off
so I can get my bout of kundalini excitation in front of bass bin.
Ah life is tuff...

When you're listening to some big weighty tunes with your monitors + subwoofer, then everyone else in your house goes to sleep so you have to switch over to headphones... RIP sub-bass.
