1. Massive (Creates dope bass noises and fx)
2. Live Cut (Glitches shit to all hell. Great for resampling.)
3. Artillery (Lots of great fx you can trigger via midi)

Any synth with effects and resampling can do this
antandra wrote:2. Live Cut (Glitches shit to all hell. Great for resampling.)
You can chop, pitch, reverse, loop, stutter etc with your DAW built in audio editing.
antandra wrote:3. Artillery (Lots of great fx you can trigger via midi)
You can automate the native effects to youe DAW (on/off wet/dry)
All these plugs give instant gratification, where there is lot more to be learnt, and exploured doing things manually. Nothing against these tools for intermediate/advance users, becuase sometimes you now you want that little stutter, and pluging xyz does it quicker, and easier. I use dblue glitch sometimes for a little stutter everynow, and again.

This is good advice ^
I wouldn't recommend a plugin to anyone as a "must have" cos for me at least, the GUI, layout, routing and "fun factor" of a synth are more important for my workflow and creativity than a synth which is objectively the most powerful or popular.
Check some demos of synths and see what makes sense to you
I will say though: don't go and torrent Massive and a shit-ton of other complicated synths if you're just starting out. You're best off learning from the ground up, e.g with a fairly simple synth, like most stock ones.

^replace the limiter with a compressor and it's perfect.
