Yea but u know they don't just plonk a sample over the drums and that's how to make a bassline. That's what they make it sound like.

Fuzzy grey area there. I sample myself all of the time. If it gets put into a sampler, its a sample. It's not like the track would be any less what it was if they heard it and just thought it would go perfectly as was, unprocessed.
