i might try make a deep tech tune so if it blows up like grime or funky i'll already look really informed

Re: Deep tech: clubbing's biggest success story
been hearing this for awhile tbh
as an amalgam of *lists 10 genres*
all for it cos it can still be danced to inventively and relaxedly
not listening/car trip music imo tho.

Sounds like any other bait tech house stuff?
Still better than shit jacking house or "disco" - that's not saying much tho

Re: Deep tech: clubbing's biggest success story
The only thing that's changed is the selection of genre-derived presets in producers' synths... Using sounds that've been caned in "dark" breaks-based music and applying it to the DJ bpm du jour. Of course, even that will have exceptions and produce the occasional decent tune (Oris Jay), but so far that doesn't appear to be the norm for this so-called 'emerging sound' .

Ok, back to tits. Ok to watch with sound turned down.

dj haus isnt really part of this scene. he's sick. signed to Uknown to the Uknkown, runs hot haus records. listen to his fact mix. That tunes sick too
im not really saying its an amazing new genre. but could go somewhere interesting. already diverged a bit from jacking house and its really good to dance to. not something id listen to at home but in someways reminds me of grime insstrumentals. and its all over london and a bit up north at the moment. jsut havent really seen anyone mention it on here.

Re: Deep tech: clubbing's biggest success story
you know, whatever the "next" shit in uk underground music is, I bet the current post dubstep climate won't really like it, and it won't be naturally in line with this scene
so maybe this is it. Grime was just shit produced, MC-focused 2 step without groove to loads of people
I just youtube mark radford one day and he had a tune called "all night" which sounded pretty peng TBH, but a lot of 4X4 is great in a club but not necessarily something I wanna sink my teeth into like that

Re: Deep tech: clubbing's biggest success story
don't think it's a matter of not liking 4/4. it's just the bait shit
and i fail to grasp what's new about minimal tech or sample pack deep house. not to mention all the jacking house shit that sounds like scraped rip productions from 20 years ago just without anything that made them good in the first place
what's next ? "omg have you guise heard these hot new djs richie hawtin & carl cox?"

Innit. Repeat of electro house all over again.AxeD wrote:Would.
It's just house music though, the fact that it's "bassline driven" doesn't really warrant
another name. The article just drags a whole bunch of unrelated shit into it imo.
Shuffling is pretty much the predominant dance style at most 4x4 nights.
Not that that's a bad ting, got more varied people on it now

Re: Deep tech: clubbing's biggest success story
Its hardly surprising the 2013 version of that song sounds like that when RIP productions are London based and definitely exposed to this sound. the 2013 VIP is probably influenced by this stuff. compare to the original version
all that nice n ripe stuff like jeremy sylvester 24 hour experience is defintiely a huge influence.
Soundcloud7
doesnt really sound like rip productions tho

Re: Deep tech: clubbing's biggest success story
yeah most likely an influence
i meant like all the vaguely garage-y vocal tech house i randomly heard over the past year or so sound like a really shit attempt at making that sorta 90s sound
and rip is the first thing that comes to mind

Re: Deep tech: clubbing's biggest success story
yeah id agree with you on that really to be honest most of it does. some of its been good reworkings of that sound, most of its been dross (dusky lol)
