I agree wit N on this, we deffo need more MC's in this scene.

I dont like the age old, 2 to the pound spit till you cant spit no more! MC's hosting and carrying a show is where its deffo needed.

Take Rogue Star as an example (or crazy d) they tend to spit abit, host, chill n joke n then spit again. That kinda style is what I call Dubstep MC'ing and that is a style that has been with Dubstep for years.I know this is RADIO MC'ing but when its in a club the only difference is the jokes go!

Yeh the mc'ing on dnb is what killed it for me. Some idiot just saying budabudabuda or some shit is just a waist of a microphone.
I wanna see more spiritual vibes in the mc'ing on dubstep, space ape moves close to it.
But i would like to see some true Jamaican mc's spit some praise for the most high over some heavy dubstepper shiz (3 hopes whistla lol)
anyway as long as mc's let tunes play, rather thn just bigging themselves up and cussing other peeps, and also KNOW THE TUNES so they know when to chat and when to stay quiet all is good

thats why we need MCs who come from the dubstep scene not other scenes. i was in a record shop tother day n playin sum tunes n sum guy who was an mc jus couldnt get his head round why u would want to listen to anything without vocals...narrow minded bastard!

i'd like to here a roger robinson vocal over dubstep. the tracks he did with the bug are awesome, the depth of his lyrics would definitely fit the music in a similar vein to spaceape imo..

i think MCs copying d&b flows over dubstep would be a mistake, but dubstep that explores vocals or dubbed out vocals, like the distance and crazy d tune or the direction kode 9 and spaceape have been taking, could be very fruitfull. grime MCs over dubstep productions definitely needs exploring more too.

MC's are good man no doubt, as long as they feel the music like we all do, i cant see anyone complaining..

only heard pokes on the dubstep wars set. would love to hear him or space ape at rinse sometime...

this tempo is not easy to flow over and do double time stuff...but i dont know if new talent is really essential right now. you guys seem to have a good crew of mcs going...

think they should be there to COMPLIMENT the track.. Not LEAD it..

The art is also when to come in and when stand back and listen to the track...

IMO he/she should be just hyping the crowd.. on drops etc, getting everyone involved.. good vibes
Don't get me wrong spitting a few bars here and there sounds heavy, but too much and I think a certain element of the sound is lost...

..it's all down to individual preference though

i dont think the complexity and subtlety in dubstep needs fast lyrics. slow stuff works much better.

Space Ape's mc'ing, yeah, quality stuff, that kind of quality who could argue with, but I can so easily see d'n'b mc's coming in that take away the depth of the music and becoming the focus. For me a lot of the deterioration of d'n'b was mc led.

A dangerous route I reckon if they haven't been into the stuff for a good while, and aren't coming in with something really original because once mc's are on the go it's bloody hard to shut them up, and especially get them to let go of the mic.

Pokes and Juakali rocked at Dub War... I don't like MC's at all usually... sometimes they are good.

I think the mc's on the reggae tip work very nice with the music. Would love to hear a set with Buju Banton or someone of the ilk on it.

Good point, I love how the music speaks for itself.

i dont know weather drum has bass has deteriated as such. Alot of people say it has, but i think it just evolved. I think alot of people have got bored of the sound and moved on to other things e.g the interest dubstep has had from the junglist movement.

There was a phaze were dnb did start doin my nut!! and to be fair i cant listen to it all the time cos its to fast for me, I like to chill and get on my Dubsteppal-headrock on.

I still go an check certain raves. It depends on wot ur looking for.
There is a definate split in the scene! with raves such as MC convention which are completly mc based which attract a younger croud and events like movement or Renegade hardware where u get a totally different croud.

I dont want to entertain the swampin of Mc's into the scene! Im not interested in that and neither are you lot. I was just interested infinding out thoughts on weather it is a nessesary step?

all the veiws are mixed we will jus have to see how things go i guess.

too many mc's spoil the mix... all about knowing when to shutup basically, and lyrics that actually mean something in relation to the music/scene preferably. as long as nights don't end up being overrun with mc's i think it's healthy to have a few... but not for every set... maybe a host + 2 others is enough... and not for every set. i know i repeated that but yeah, whatever... all about the music, doesn't really need it imo... safe

dubstep works on its own but MCs are important, that tradition stands up. its just that little bit more energy. depends who's DJing as well but im likely to enjoy it more inna di rave if theres an mc on as well

how i see it dubstep born mc's wud b all gud cos they understand the music. But prob with alto of mc's comin over form grime n itng is dat they dnt fully undertand it and therefore try to spit constantly which is not right it ruins evrythin n like UFO over easy sed it ruins the meditaiton pon d bass. its all btou hosting wen it comes to dubstep right now but if they were dubstep born mc's wid longer flows n bars den dat shud b aite since they shdu understand d music n kno wen to shut up n just host lol
