Surely the large clubs have the neccesary equipment to properly represent a stereo mix on a mono soundsystem though, rather than you having to cater for them. Or is it more of a case of good practice to do it?

Also I saw a feature on a producer in music tech I think it was, where he used a nifty plug-in that enables you to seperate and hear the mono part of the mix from the stereo and switch between the two. I'll get the name of it tonight if anyones interested.

ok...

I feel as if I should elaborate on this, since I started the confusion here.

when making a tune, it is a stereo tune.

when I am mixingdown, I REFERENCE in mono as well as stereo (because my speaker control center has the option to do so)

if my tune sounds good in both stereo and mono...

that makes me happy... because I know...

it will sound fine in a club with a mono PA system as well as a system set up in stereo.

carry on please
