etidorhpa wrote:Watched Wolf Creek the other night, i thought it was pretty darn good....the kidnap dude made the film, creepy as fuck. But it was ruined for me when that girl snuck off and discovered the video recorder, watched it and saw exactly the same shenanigans occur with another family, that part was WEAK.
Got 'La Haine' to watch soon, supposed to be killer!

just a note, its probs worth everyone being careful about what they say about the conclusions of films, as for those who havent seen them yet it might be a bit of a flop!

last really good film i watched was an anime called "grave of the fireflies" (hotaru no haka), well sad.

anyone ever seen that french one, about 30 mins long, black and white. it starts with this couple robbing a bank and the other 27 minutes is their get away on roller skates through the streets of paris. fucking fast film!

requiem for a dream is pretty heavy too
Not convinced by this, the story is obviously a compelling one but the directors way of relaying it was incredibly brash and relied too much on shock value. Worth a watch though.

Tetsuo - The Iron Man. Ive had it for a few years, just broke it out again for the millionth time for a few people who havent seen it.

God I love this movie. Its so much fun to watch.

Watch out the the giant drill cock!

Plus, I liked Hostle. Big up the Miike cameo near the end of the flick!

city of god is ok...better than average.

if you want the real thing watch 'bus 174'...is a really good documentary about a real brazillian street kid.

if you want to watch a fucked up flick watch gaspar noes first, ' i stand alone' .the story is kinda meandering, but certain parts are absolutely encompassing.can totally feel this film.

sometimes shock is what is needed to get the message across, though... sometimes shock is what is needed to get addicts to quit, as well. Why is the truth so shocking?

Howl's Moving Castle

I love Spirited Away, this wasn't as good as that but still visually astonishing. So much imaginative energy and attention to detail.
