man i love this film, so dark and clever. Such a fresh take on the "teen" genre.

My fave scene is the bit with the top gangster kid and Brendan round the gangsters mums house. Funny stuff..

I rented Brick from Lovefilm last year

An utter waste of time

Impossible to engage with the story and its characters - a bunch of annoying and pretentious teen brats

Incomprehensible dialogue and plot

Nodded off a couple of times during the film

Did the sensible thing and turned the film off

Back in the post following morning

Absolutley LOVED this film, the small stylistic touches all add up through the film and really add to the whole noir feel, quality story and I thought Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performance perfectly echoed stlye of a 50's (mabye 40's or 30's, not sure what decade) noir detective.

me likey brick, brilliantly pasting the film noir into the classroom environment. yeah i reckon half nelson should be next.. can we only focus on the indie films or are big budget moving pictures aloud too? hmm i am legend is wank. oh anyone seen kiss kiss bang bang by shane black (geezer who wrote lethal weapon and the last boy scout (i fucking love the last boy scout(the film, not the scout))) and starring val kilmer and rob downey jr.. fucking seriously such a quality film!

I thought it was pretty good, can't really say much on it as I didn't really feel much from it, it was a good watching experience but didn't dwell any deeper for me at least!

I think we should have a British film next, 2 American films on the trott!

ok guys, i watched the film the other night and must say i was pretty disappointed. i don't feel the film noir / detective genre was pulled off convincingly at all, and i fell asleep it was that boring.

for a really wikkid whodunnit thriller type film, you gotta check zodiac. i just watched it tonight, and it kicked brick's ass outta the water.

i really enjoyed the film, it was a good re-ignition of the noir genre, was good to see a detective film without shootouts every 5 minutes

this is getting unstickied now whilst baron chooses the next film, but continue to discuss brick here
