I'm OCD with files in general, so mines is like:
-MASTER FOLDER
--Kicks
--HiHats
--Snares
--FX (Small)
--FX (Big)
--FX (Atmospheric)
--Vocals
--Vocals 2
--Vocals (Movies)
--Sample Pack (DOA)
--Sample Pack (Ewun)
--Sample Pack (DSF)
etc, etc, etc...
Once you have something like that set up its easy to just add a new sample where it goes. I like to know where I got stuff from so I can clear them / give credit in the future if the need ever arises. (Sorry, I have big dreams) LOL

hah
stop bringing back memories of akais and floppies
[grandad]bloody kids dont know theyre born these days. instant recall, gigs of sapce, full screen editing, more than 8 char filenames...[/grandad]
ive lost so many tunes because of 1 corrupt floppy out of 8 and its soooooo annoying. took forever to chop a rbeak as well.. 2 lines of text on my s2000.
my samples are fairly well organised. have to go on a mission vevery now and then to tidy up. usual drums/bass/instruments/vocals categories.
been deleting tons recently. how many kicks do you need ? find some good ones and delete the rest. and any mp3s... shit in shit out...

I have a folder named samples which contains pack folders, my own sample folders and some random samples I created.
The key for getting around them is not keeping shit samples and having as little as possible, I basically know exactly where to look, because I remember, what everything contains.

My sample library isnt to bad but i hate the idea of deleting samples even though i will probably never work on the huge folder of unfinished tunes i have that are linked to those samples. i dont even want to move them in case what ever sampler doesnt have a search for missing samples function. I have been stung by that a few to many times
