people stop acting like bellends, this is slightly helpful:
being a dick is not.
@ bennett2k8 - mate you are asking some very very basic questions here, if you're not prepared to at least sit down with an easy program like FL and figure a few bits out for yourself, there's not much point in others trying to help you out. There are shitloads of tutorials etc if you look, don't expect people to do everything for you.

like i say, you are asking some of the most basic questions about production here - filter cutoff is one of the most important knobs on any hardware/software synth.
You honestly shouldn't expect people to hold your hand through everything you need to learn in order to start making basic tunes - there is so much help in books (in the library!) or on the net.

kool man there pretty basic synths but i could upload you a copy of a synth called Junglist which a straight foward synth which u can get sum good stuff from. just mess about with different knobs on it and listen to what does what. if you want it then just PM me.

IIRC, ts404 and 3xOsc are both subtractive / virtual analogue style synths (ie they work by feeding a harsh buzzy waveform through a filter that cuts out some of the harsh bits and gives something more musical) and so pretty much any tutorial on that sort of synth should be of some use - you don't need a seperate tutorial for every synth ever, 'cutoff' 'detune' 'attack' 'decay' 'resonance' and so on mean the same for almost all of them and you can figure out the finer details by listening and experimenting.

kinda bass
The filter takes a square wave that sounds kind of werrrr ish and knocks out some of the higher frequencies so it sounds more wuuuuu - exactly how it does this depends on the cutoff and the resonance and the filter type (also if it's a bandpass rather than a lowpass it'll take out some of the lower frequencies too) but that's the basic idea. If you put an envelope on the filter then it'll effectively increase the cutoff to more of a waaaa sound during the attack phase and then bring it back down to wuuu during the decay phase unless you crank the sustain level up a bit in which case it brings it down less.
So if you have a square wave, a filter with a low cutoff, moderate envelope mod on the filter, reasonably long attack phase on the envelope and the envelope sustain set to max, it'll start of wuuuu and then turn into waaa during the course of the note, ie giving you the whuaa. Play a couple of notes and you can pretend you're T2 already. (I just did with Synth1 and it was fun.)
