so, it certainly isn't garage... but it seems to have evolved out of that sound. dub war "generations" for example or kode 9 & benny ill "tales from the bass side".
so... what is it? de-emphasised garage? "struck dumb", "smiling face", stalker" "knowledge" and "9 samouri" are all great tracks and nothing like the first things i picked up which i now call dubstep.
baffling smoke signals...
