yeah the quality is about the same. i think drum racks have more headroom, becuase when you load sampels innit they are all low.. and when you load in battery they are pretty loud. but a little ajusting and things sound good, if its not the sound engine then it might just be the timing with drum racks is faster , therefore gives you better results.
and instant loading to the pads on my mpd24 is awesome on the drum racks too..
