Seriously - I'm biased 'cuz I live here now, but I've been all over and there's NUTHIN' like SF really. We have:

- some of the best quality & variety of food on the planet
- herb is virtually legal - i.e. you can skin up & blaze almost anywhere and not worry about cops, and we're ganja connoisseurs
- lots of boutique-y shopping, if that's what you're into (yawn)
- fantastic scenery
- fewer ignorant/stupid people than many places in the U.S.
- one of the few places you'll find Dubstep being played on a decent system (along with NYC, LA, Austin, Miami... maybe Atlanta)
- almost nobody who'll admit to voting for Bush
- lots of single people of any conceivable flavor
- the biggest park in the U.S. entirely within city limits - Golden Gate Park (2 miles long, ½ mile wide, ends at the Ocean)
- generally laid back attitude; fatal muggings and bumbaclot like that are practically non-existent, as compared to other U.S. cities like Chicago (my hometown), parts of NYC, LA, etc.

This city RULES. Plus a lot of the American heads on this forum live here!

It's worth it. I mean, don't get me wrong - no place is perfect - but as for major U.S. cities there's nothing else even close. We have a huge European expat community here for a reason... all the folks who left the UK & continent for America but didn't want to eat shitty food or shop only at Walmart or be pressured into joining the local church militia - they wind up here.

Just make sure to bring a jacket regardless of what time of year it is.

Fuck the city. If you come to the US you gotta try partying redneck style. Go Bass fishing. Go to a county fair and catch some super modified tractor pulls. East some BBQ ribs. Go to a bonfire/barrel party in the middle of the woods. Go off-roading. Camping. Shit like that.

Or you could go see the Grand Canyon... I'm in the US and I haven't been there either but I'd like to.

I freakin' loved visiting Falling Water..At one point I had sort of takin it upon myself to find a site line on one of the decks, and when I turned to face it's opposite point - There was a rock planted exactly in the wall that was bigger and more beautiful than all the rest - It was as if he had put it there just for me or anyone else who cared to follow his lines.

San Fran is overpriced and over rated chaps. Its a dirty city just like L.A, but they both have a lot going on so your never bored. L.A is only violent if you start throwing gang signs or start looking for trouble, just like anywhere else. Seattle is my home town and that city is very clean compared to L.A, SanFran. Seattle is also full of bullshit, but there are some decent Dubstep crews there. Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm is fun for rides and such. San Fran has a awesome China Town to get some really authentic Chinese (haha come to America for Chinese food) and good tea shops. I don't really care for doing tourist shit, so seeing Hollywood Blvd and the like was shitty for me, but if you like freak shows then its a bit of a good laugh.

Tons of parks and outdoors types of things. The Heartland of America isn't that bad. Yes, a lot of churches and Walmarts, but if your just visiting it doesn't matter. See the "national treasures" like Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming/Montana because it is pretty cool and there are a lot of trails to take and explore. Denver is a kick ass town (its a fucking party town) in the summer. They have a good Industrial scene there and tons of noise shows, so thats a big plus for someone like me. I know that there is Dubstep events there.

Those are just some of my recommendations, keep an open mind and be frugal with your money and don't waste it on crap you don't need, trinkets and the like.

People like to fuck anywhere btw, I'm sure if you tried to get laid that it would be a big deal. If you A). Have money and/or B). look good, then you shouldn't have a problem getting laid. But like most Brits, the bad teeth thing will weigh against you.
