nowt worrying bruv, different people like different aspects of the sound. It's also not deep vs silly, I just prefer stuff which is more about the rhythms, you know odd grooves, techy drums sounds, when im skanking.

I love it like that man, when u dont have to worry about knockin into some tnuc whos gonna turn around and start on u for it. everyone was just havin a mad time, then when it got a bit deeper everyone chilled out anyway. i think (except for the heat, which was defo at a dangerous level, epecially with the amount of MD knocking around) it was pretty spot on.

This night was intense!, was a bit weary of the cues to get into city at first even with wrist bands but that calmed down after a while, Tayo in rescue was awsome! after that I head back to the rig/basement and stuck there for the rest of the night, really sweaty/hot but kind of right level of chilled-ness, Rustie was awsome, caught some of RZA but was well too packed in there, The dripping ceiling and dark/sweaty atmosphere in the rig well suited the dubstep vibe, Loved it all the way! Huge respect for Spam Chop tearing the place up at the end! Thanks for playing 4 of my tunes out, buzzed nicely off the good reception i got from the crowd! that made my night!
Well deserved applause and "Spam Chop" chants at the end for Lucas, absolutely smashed it! Lush way to end such an awsome/hectic weekend!

lol it hasnt affected dubstep untill last week at exodus but everything else gets hijacked by absolute wankers, in particular the drum and bass scene which is completely over run by thugs and the jump up scene (although we run a fat little night called filtered at a small club, weve got markus Intalex this saturday.) Kept bumping into alex Perez in the dubstep room, who we had booked a few weeks ago, and he loved it so much he wants to come back and play again. He also asked my mate what she was doing after the event

I really dont like getting into to a dispute about something espescially on an internet forum, but you didnt have my experience so how can you tell me it was not moshing? it was a very large crowd, and at times during benga's and skreams sets there were people (i felt) that were moshing, im all good for being pushed around wen the crowd is going for it, but not getting a busted lip and my mate getting smacked into the front speakers. Also girls getting pushed to the floor. I mean as a man (young man) I can take it, but wen there is a big representation of females at the front of a dubstep night which has been quite rare for a while, I dont think idiots shud just batter into there mate and flail there arms around in an uncontrollable state resulting in many people getting hit or injured. IMHO that isnt dancing thats just tom foolery and getting angry for the sake of it, you carnt tell me you like getting grabbed round the collar by some bloke twice the size of you saying "ill smack your head in if you hit into me again" (wen he was the one battering into me) is a good crowd?

Now ive said my piece, big up pinch, mala, rust, futureproof lot, skream, benga, Spam, Ashburner, Dj Derek, Highness and of course detonate.

Regardless of the mixed reviews woudl have liked to have made this; RZA and pinch would have been good, but alas an INTENSE hangover from DMZ the night before would have scuppered all chances of a good time even if I had bothered my arse to sort it out...

i can't believe i spent £26 on this only to spend a half an hour wondering around the rig thinking why mala wasn't on when my watch was about 4 hours fast. i then proceeded to spend the rest of the night in a coma on the trent uni wall opposite stealth.

however, in true bank holiday weekend stylee i managed to find a random crackhead girl to nurse me back to reality. plus forest are up, leiceter and derby are down. what a weekend.

i spent most of my time upstairs for this one, but checked some of the dubstep out- could hear valve over the dubstep and plenty of trainwrecks due to what looked like a pliable plywood wrestling table and jumpy needle...
Still, enjoyed the stuff I did hear and out to all DJs for playing- thought Jon Rust was excellent- very different style.
I didn't realise all the heat as I was drenched in sweat and drinks and water. That place was busy.
Not really worth £26 either, especially when you can't get to some of the acts due to crowding.

i thought the night went well. Thought the vibes throughout all the venues were wicked. There wasn't any aggro anywhere as far as i'm aware. The dubstep room was too hot but was rammed and going off all night. We were told we had to close the door which lead outside due to sound break out or turn it down. We closed the door and turned the air con up which started leaking. It wasn't sweat that was dripping it was the broken air con.
Musically i thought the dusbtep room was good and varied. Mala and Pinch took things deeper. The funktion one rig in the dubstep room sounded heavy.
The dubstep room doubled in size from last years event and was still rammed all night.

was a good night, gutted i missed roots manuva, but when i walked round it was one in one out! scratch perverts were sick as always. Dubstep room was good, but I just dont like the rig, that slippy floor is a nightmare, I would much prefer it downstairs in stealth, with all the platforms, i really like the atmosphere in there! Even though it was crowded, was ALOT better than last year. definitly not feeling £7 for 2 cans of red stripe... also, its all about jumpin about enjoying the music, its not about standing there like a scarwcrow, pullin screw faces when someone knocks into you, if you dont like it, move to the back. and who ever said it was like a mosh pit, wait intill you get into a real mosh pit.

red stripe thing was murder, so started drinking peroni instead, £5 for 2 reasonable cups, still not great but hey

and the pit thing, so true, in a proper pit like metallica (at least back in the day) you can wile out alll you want to the music, just gotta watch yourself for not getting knocked down and helped people up if they do - no dubstep dancefloor i have ever been to, in this country or any other, in the north or in the south of england, has ever been like that, ever!

people get a little rowdy, they get worked up by tunes like roadrage etc., they fall over, they get a lil bouncey, but it is never THAT bad. if you really want to stand still on the dance floor or just sway a lil bit, perhaps move away from the front - its all about judging your crowd, i'd never go stand by the speaker with my girlfriend if she couldn't handle herself, that's just stupid.

yea man that was too funny, i was right at the front for that and the guy barged right passed me, then everyone thort it was me lol. wasnt that during Skreams set though? im pretty sure it was cause can remember the look of utter shock on his face when he turned around lol.

Was a sick tune though and defo warranted a reload! probally why no one thort he was a cock for doin it.
