i can't believe you people are bitching about $15.

i'd gladly pay twice that if that's what it took to book kode9. entirely worth it imo.

there's not very many djs left i feel are worth it traveling to go see, but im gonna get myself to chicago for this one, no doubt about it.

who's opening up?

also what's up with bgb the night before?

honestly, i wasn't bitching about the cost, more musing about the cost in the current economic climate (for me that translates into "unemployed for 6 months; broke as shit"). and as much as i do love me some kode 9, i will not back down on saying that i think $15 is fucking expensive for a club night. ANY club night. but that's mostly because i think DJs charging an arm and a leg is lame. always have, always will. doesn't mean i won't make every effort to go, but that's my stance and i am stickin' to it.

BGB the night before is a nice little midwest dubstep funtime. i will be playing at BGB and yet prolly will not be able to afford to get into kode 9, unless i can find a generous benefactor. thusly, frustrated with the price.

freebie style:
couchsurfing.com - Chicago
This guy looks good...

cheap (hostel):
http://www.arlingtonhouse.com/

hotel search:
Days Inn Lincoln Park North
Howard Johnson Inn
Courtyard by Marriott

hope that helps... the hotels are concentrated downtown and carry downtown pricetags... if I didn't have a full couch I'd offer you a spot... I am sure there is a friendly dubstepper in CHI that has a couch fer ya; or just a random person from the couchsurfing site... my friends use it all the time for the US and world.

"this guy" doesn't own a car, so taking the bus is the only affordable way for me to get down there. I also never asked about hostels, Dali was just kind enough to post up a link.

coming down there is still going to cost me over $400 and im not bitching about that at all.

if you make it, ill even buy you a round ; )

that goes for you too shiva!

:D

I'll be there!
I have to say that Joe Nice at Smart bar was one of the best venues so far in Chicago for dubstep.. lots of room, good sound, energy etc.
Really curious to see the turnout though. Joe nice was 8 bucks and there was about 50 people there. Either way i personally would pay the 15 dollars because there really is no experience like hearing and feeling this music, and since i don't live in London i'll take the trip.

Actually there was 130+ paid for the night.. don't let the size of that spot fool you =) Big things next Saturday... can't wait for the Kode 9 experience.
