only problem with learning in reason is that is you don't have a great amount of common sense (not saying that the OP hasn't.. lol) i find it can be slightly harder to translate over to other daws. i use reason 5 exclusively and not gonna lie, i can't use anything else cause i've got so used to the way reason runs/sounds etc it would take ages for me to pick up something else (i reckon).

You can use logic to make dubstep. For sure. If you want a more brostep style kind of bass, I would reccomend getting the vst Massive by Native Instruments

Reason 4 is enuff.

i started on fl studio and transitioned to logic 9.1.3. Once you learn the basics it gets much easier, but as other people said, any daw will do
