theres certainly no creative freedom left in the leicester scene
personally i reckon scenes dont limit creative freedom, if someone in leicester wanted to do something different with 170bpm no one would stop them.
just like the dubstep 'scene' hasn't been around forever, some people started making fresh sounds and the scene grew around it.
i think calibre sounded fresh when his dnb started getting big because he wasn't so engrossed in the scene, he liked listening to lots of non dnb music so that allowed him to give a fresh slant on it.
Its all about supply and demand, we are bucking the trend with our filtered night and its going really well but in terms of production the city belongs to jump up. Its very hard for anyone to break out doing something different....
anyway its not for me to talk about on here, big up the leicester dubstep scene!! BO!

So why R so many Dnb Dj's/Producers coming to the True steppin side?
There genre not shifting enuff?
Dont get me rong alot of it is big and im all up for it, just bit weird.
i reckon the reason is coz DNB is dull as mud now - you can't even tell one tune from another - it's just like Hardcore with a slightly more interesting beat as far as i can tell. OneNation = HardcoreHeaven
but all the producers are really talented and have awesome skills productionwise so dubstep and breaks are the natural way out [ed solo makes breaks now with Deekline for example]
or maybe i'm just horribly wrong
aaaargghh... i can't help but feel there's a tad too much pompous, anti-dnb swaggering around this forum...
The fact is that SOME dubstep has ALREADY succumbed to a lot of the same ills(!) as SOME dnb did a few years back...
We shouldn't begrudge dnb producers the chance to flex their creative muscle at a slower tempo without gloating over some strange, perceived victory for the scene...
And as for Dkay...
Manipulate the Universe still gets me in the same place it got me 4 or 5 years ago... ya large bruvva!

I would also hate drum & bass with a passion if I would judge it only from One Nation and Ed Solo.

yea big up dkay...big d'n'b producer and obviously sick with the dubstep styles aswell...
'fire' - the orginal and the rusko remix are fucking LARGE...skank out style.
'emperor' sounds absolutely HUGE...serious bassface business.
when are these tunes dropping on dub police man?!
nice to see heads like dkay and calibre embracing the sound

Emporer is one of the most hideous tunes I've ever heard.
And I do mean hideous.

can someone tell me what track the vocal on 'Fire' comes from. I've been fiending over a garage track by Nordstadt Union with that same vocal for a couple of years.
