thanks for all the suggestions ninjas

i remember watching oz at about 3am during my insomniac period, that was good so i'll try that, as well as the shield

dexter was ok, but i found a few of the characters a bit cliched, not to mention the plinky latino music which felt a bit out of place in lots of scenes

I swear that's half the point, blood and brains and ass all over the walls, and some nice upbeat cuban piano in the background.

Yeah, dexter is causing me issues at the moment, not sure whether to just finish watching the rest of the second series and get it out of the way so i can study properly, or whether to try to use restraint.

I've run out of house episodes which i can almost legitimately claim to be helping with studying, so i have no excuse now.

Internet tv, bane of my life

+1 for Dexter, just got into it this week, top quality and pretty gory stuff.

if u saw The Wire then definitely you should watch Oz. Also if you like David Lynch and dont mind a bit of old school, check out Twin Peaks.

for comedy, someone said Spaced. smack on. love that show :)
i also liked the office (and the US version is not bad either...).

The Sopranos, if it hasnt been mentioned. The best TV drama ever in my eyes, so beautifully shot, exquisetly written and addictive to watch. I love it so much I even used it as the topic for my A Level coursework

Twin Peaks ain't too bad if you can get all of them and start from the beginning. Not the middle....by then Lynch has put his scent all over it and you'll get lost quick
