Ive been slowly introducing dubstep to one of my mates for a few months now, covertly playing tunes whilst smoking a joint and playing CD's in the car and he's slowly becoming keen on it. Check It - Skream ft Warrior Queen was the breakthrough tune for him.

I agree though it should be organic but a little push in the right direction is ok !

there certainly does seem to be a few comments getting thrown around on here that make me go "hmmm" (and not in a good way)

but anyway back to the original post....
not everyone has to, or is going to, like dubstep

yeah no need to force it on people, if they like it they like it

however i don't like it (and this applies to showing ANY kind of music to your mates) when you play someone one track and they just go "this is a load of serious, absolute bullshit" and they rinse the genre and decide the entire thing is shit based on just that one tune

yeah out to everyone saying i shouldn't force my music on people. just so you konw, i'm not actually like that usually - it's just when people go

"i don't see how anyone can actually ever even see that as music!"

it's instantly a challenge to play them a tune they'll go "o wait actually this is sick.. i suppose you're right - it doesn't have to have notes to be music"

(also always interesting when u think u'd hate dragonforce but when my mate played me Through the Fire and the Flames in return - phwoar, metal ftw! i hope i haven't offended any serious metal heads by calling dragonforce metal..)

to be honest, i think this guy is now just making a point of saying he hates things just to piss me off. never mind! [just have to get him pissed/lean and blaast spongebob at him on some bassy speakers]
