Why? It's bloody pathetic. I don't see the piont. Unless someone derives gratificatoin from pretending to be some one else on myspace. Which in basic terms means they get hard from watching the numbers increase as the page gets more hits. Or maybe it was someone just experimenting. :P:

perhaps because myspace isn't the canonised, obligatory tool of global music promotion everyone thinks it is! ;)

hehe i suppose they're doing very well without one, but still, can't really think of many reasons not to have one, if you tag your tunes etc.

It does help if you don't have any other means of getting your music heard.

i have no doubt about that. but it's the culture of it i dislike. and the fact it's own by murdoch and, moreover, the fact that it just isn't a well designed site.

Im sure Rupets kids like him, well a least i hope they do. Because no one I've ever spoken to has a nice word to say about him. As for the design, I agree 100% it really needs to be redone from the ground up, it has for to many annoying glitches. And with the money ther have now, there really isn't an excuse. With regards to the culture of it I think i know what you mean. But, you don't have to buy into . Although be simply having an account you may say this is buying into it .

Spoke to Coki about this the other day - its shocking cos I remember when I saw it the first time thinking about what Mala said when I asked him about myspace a while back.

His exact reasons for disliking myspace was the fact it is so easy for people to fake on it.

And now this happens!

I'm going to take the link off my page.

Thats pure waste tactics on the part of whoever did the page. I get a lot of work thru myspace however so I aint goin to knock it, only knocking the people who decide to fake people on there.

People are just jealous because I'm really really friends with the RZA.

We go for picnics and everything.

The fake DMZ only has 1 friend :-(

myspace.com or murdochspace.com?
Going by the terms and conditions, it's Probably the second.

A friend who works with EMI told me that the story about the Arctic Monkeys getting famous from myspace was a total fabrication. Myspace and EMI did a deal to spend loads of £££ on promoting a band as if it were "underground" and launching myspace.com as the site where independent musicians and bands can promote themselves.
A massive success!

So I guess there must be loads of web-plggers blogging away on behalf of major lables...

At least dubstep is free from all that corporate nonsense that ruins music.

Preech!

MySpace isnt as great as people make it out to be. Most use it because they dont know alternatives. Lame.
