fbc fabric & reindeer, are one of the best examples of uk hip hop i've heard in a long time. every single track on their album is heavyweight. it can stand up against anything coming out of US hip hop.

I don't give a shit if he's polynesian, UK west indian or black american...

...that shit is so played out

and i don't want to hear no whiney minstrel trash cloning the black experience either...

...hot chix rapping I can dig, even if they lack skills but have attitude 8)

I live in nyc and In the record store I just went to the dubstep is throwin in with the 2step & grime. They just don't know it's a genre yet, and they know it's UK stuff so they lump it all together. Note also the fact that grime most often has lyrics (not just vocal samples... lyrics) But hey what do I know... I been listenin to dubstep for oh... 2 weeks now? haha ;)
