its almost always better to use minus settings with EQ, and turn up the gain, instead of EQ boosting - maybe that is one issue ?

if producing using just Reason I'll always run a mild Scream 4 tape saturation over the whole mix as Reason standalone sounds very cold and 'digital' imo.

I use mainly Logic now though so I don't do any harmonic processing of the master output as i think it sounds 'warm' enough without such things.
