Wicked Idea this... Not only would it give another outlet for the bigger producers but it could really help up and coming artists to get their music out there...
I wonder if the net release date could match the vinyl release date tho?
I'm sure all the international heads will love being able to get hold of tunes sooner and not having to pay crazy shipping charges...
Also i think an option of 320 Mp3 and .wav would be best for eveyone..

i'm up for this too- would gladly pay .79 p for a 256kb/s track if I'm just going to stick it on my ipod...
and wavs or 320kb/s mp3's for £1.99 for djing with...

Nice 1
Do it! Another vote for FLAC, they're about half the size of wav's and same quality.
Would be wicked to get hold of some of unreleased bits like that.
Big up

Big ups to everyone who's getting involved, its all good.
WAVs are a definite option, i'm the fussiest when it comes to the quality of my beats so even the mp3's will be of a high quality. I'm curious about this FLAC format too, ill look into it later for sure...
I'm going Skreamz in a bit so leave some more ideas and shit for when I come back pls.

Gutter wrote:The option to buy WAV versions (for a slightly higher premium) seems like a nice idea to me. That would appeal to the audiophiles and vinyl purists - they could cut their own dubs from WAVs.

nice one !

FLAC info:
http://flac.sourceforge.net/
"FLAC stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec. Grossly oversimplified, FLAC is similar to MP3, but lossless, meaning that audio is compressed in FLAC without any loss in quality. This is similar to how Zip works, except with FLAC you will get much better compression because it is designed specifically for audio, and you can play back compressed FLAC files in your favorite player (or your car or home stereo, see supported devices) just like you would an MP3 file."

With more and more DJs utilising laptops and the associated software in live sets this has to be the way forward now we are well into the new internet world. Plus the availability of software studios and hence many more producers and tracks being made this will allow a ton more music to get out there. You are always going to have people sharing illegally (there is no way round it in the forseeable future) just as you will always have shoplifters but this does not mean that ppl won't buy legal downloads as shown by the success of itunes music store etc. Underground music needs to get in on the game!!

Absolutely spot on. People will share music even if you don't sell it on MP3 - look at DnB, you can get pretty much any released tune, and shitloads of unreleased stuff as well from p2p.
Give people the option to buy a reasonably priced tune from a digital download place and they will.

This sounds like an awsome idea...id deffo be happy to pay for high quality .wavs...
Its a great way of getting peeps the tunes and cuts out costs for the artists and labels as if peeps want to press their own dubs etc then thats up to them...
This is an awsome idea, behind it 100%!!!

my prayers answered. not jus 4 skream an benga beats, but for upcoming 'never heard of him' sorts. no problem with paying for high quality wavs - beats £8 for a tune i first heard 12 months ago. go on chef...

Great idea chef! I'd really be into the .WAVs too.
Some sort of t-shirt ordering system would be cool too if you could keep the overhead low. I'm sure a lot of us would buy label-branded shirts (dmz, tempa, ital, etc.) if we could.
